Webinar - Countdown to the Census: What Nonprofits Can Do To Increase Census Participation: 2010 Census forms are set to be mailed to homes in mid-March, and will impact community funding and political representation for a decade. Join us for this timely and important staff training to discuss what exactly your nonprofit can do to help increase Census participation among your participants. We'll do a review of what's at stake for your community, define the barriers your participants may face, and identify strategies and messages you can take back to encourage full participation.

MSU Speaker Series - Controversy, Conflict, and the U.S. Census: Bring your lunch! Campus Conversations are open discussions for students, staff and faculty that focus on current issues. The conversations work to enhance knowledge of current issues and promote democratic dialogue with members of the campus community. Discussion will be facilitated by a Metropolitan State faculty member.

Using Social Media to Convey Your Message: Brooke Worden, Randy Sands and David Krejci of Weber Shandwick will discuss how social media can be used to get messages out to the public. They will draw on their work with the U.S. Census Bureau and the 2010 Census Campaign.

Minneapolis - Census Day of Action: Join others in your community to knock on doors raising awareness about the Census. Help us make sure that everyone is counted in your community. The Census Bureau estimates that for every person not counted, your community would lose $10,000 in federal funding for schools, roads, public safety and medical care. Census Say is April 1st - please join us!
Secretary of State Mark Ritchie will explain why the census is important before we go out into the community to engage your neighbors.
